I’m sure you could imagine the sight of a couple at the fair. They might be having a blast sharing a cotton candy. They could be riding the Ferris wheel together. It all sounds so stereotypical.
It is, until you realize that the couple consists of two men enjoying their time together. You know what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is my belief that humans should be allowed to enjoy each other’s company, in any context, without judgment or apprehension.
Australia (you know the one... its residing neighbor, New Zealand: rumored to have more sheep than people) gets it. GetUp! Action for Australia is an independent movement dedicated to bringing democracy back in Australia’s government. They are the ones responsible for an advertisement that depicts half the perspective of two men in love.
According to Australian polls, support for gay marriage continues to rise. Almost two thirds of registered voters in the country have committed to vote yes for allowing the law to pass. So what’s standing in their way? The prime minister, Julia Gillard. She has publicly stated, ““the institution of marriage has come to have a particular meaning and standing in our culture and nation and that should continue unchanged.”
The advocate blog first made mention in the states by posting up an article with the title: Possibly the Most Beautiful Ad for Marriage Equality We’ve Seen, clicking on link will allow you to view the advertisement that builds to the moment of proposal. Currently it is unlawful for two men in Australia to be married.
