Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer—whether that person is a loved one, friend, coworker, or even ourselves. I have had several family members die of cancer, and many members of my family walk in honor of these people every year at annual fundraisers.
But to be affected by cancer three times has to be exceptionally tough. Marci, a mother of three from Colorado, knows how this feels. After battling—and defeating—breast cancer not one but TWO times, Marci is now facing Stage IV cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes and lungs. Marci is also a warrior against cancer in many other ways, raising awareness and money for research in her own community and spending time with those affected by cancer during the last ten years, serving as a real cancer hero and role model.
This month, Love Drop is stepping in and providing Marci with the thing she desires most in the world—some quality time with her family. The goal this month is to send Marci and her family on a much-deserved vacation while she prepares to fight this next round of cancer.
Not only is Love Drop asking for funds and gifts this time around, but they’d also like to hear your suggestions for a vacation for this family. The idea is to send the family somewhere amazing, where they can make memories that will last them forever, so be sure to send in your ideas to the Love Drop team.
Here are some other ways you can help:
- Spread the word. You can always help Love Drop by posting about it on Facebook, telling friends and family about it, or texting this information to everyone you know. Write a blog post if you can!
- Donate what you can. Even if it’s just $1, Love Drop will take it—and it will make a difference. Of course, if you can give even more than that, please do so.
- Send in a gift card. International gift cards that can be used everywhere are best, since the destination isn’t known for sure yet. Any gift card will help, of course!
- Donate travel items. From destination packages to timeshare options to airline miles, if you have it or know someone who can provide it, it would be much welcomed here! I’m betting even some travel gear would come in handy.
